A FEW THINGS YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT SILICON VALLEY

Fascinating how the Santa Clara Valley from the 1800′s, a real agricultural paradise, transformed itself with the enthusiasm and vision of Leland Stanford who in 1885 founded what is today Stanford University. A succession of great inventors were nested in the Stanford compound, bringing the birth of Silicon Valley.  More specifically, the development of semi-conductors and the silicon chip gave the area its new name Silicon Valley, as the computing era was to emerge.

It all started in a garage in Palo Alto, where HP fathers William Hewlett and David Packard invented their first computer. And here we are now, many many versions later…
